Why 4x equal sprites per chest?

This is the format for characters in RPG Maker, 4 for directions and 3 for walk cycle, but it uses the 4 direction sprites as an opening animation for chests, the other rows can be used for a walk animation, but as a chest doesn't walk, they are the same sprite
